NYC // May Showers Bring... L U S H N E S S

Welp this whole damn week has been rainy here, but yesterday was one of those pretty/foggy/silvery kind of rainy days where everything looks L U S H and I thought to bring my camera into work with me. I was bopping all over Greenwich Village, Soho, and even a bit of Tribeca as my job took me here, there and everywhere. And even though it was rainy, the city was still bustling with lots of weekend activity.

Also, this thread is sort of intended as a springtime follow-up to this April thread I posted a few weeks ago. Check it out if you like the below pictures: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=233245

Now a quick start in Brooklyn, my home neighborhood of Bushwick:

Then an 18 minute ride on the L train and I'm in Union Square, where the Dance Parade greeted me:

Same shot three weeks ago:

Not sure whether I like or dislike this blue color on the new Hondas...

Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!

Quick detour to Miami:

Actually not quite Miami. A restaurant from Mexico is opening a temporary location on this lot:

Checker Marathon, anyone?

Last few for this set, a quick trip up to a rooftop right as daylight was fast fading away:

As always, I hope you liked

And once again, if you'd like to see the same areas of Manhattan but from just a few weeks ago when things were starting to really bloom, check out this thread: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=233245

You can't beat the seasonal deciduous biome, you just can't.

Love it!

Not that I could ever afford it, but for me this is about as idyllic as it gets for urban living!

Fantastic. It's conditions like these where I feel Manhattan really pops.

Surely this has to be somewhere in Queens or Brooklyn and not Manhattan?

^^ Yup, it's urban moments like those why I hang around the West Village... for my money it's the best neighborhood in Manhattan, and perhaps by extension the whole city.

Indeed, I love that street -- Leroy St. between 7th Ave and Hudson Street. And FYI the shot towards the end of my thread of the street with the thick tree canopy is the same stretch. There's no other block in lower Manhattan quite like it

Living in Atlanta, trees in urban environments are truly something special. They really do change the character of the entire street. Great photo set.

Agreed, I love lush cities/parts of cities and grow tired of it quickly when it is nothing but concrete.
