Broadway and either Portage or Graham would be the most logical locations for a Sev.
Sev has a no-chase policy, which Mac's and independents do not, so if they feel like a store would have a high theft risk, that could make them reluctant to open on. The 7x16 in the west end used to be a 7-11 but they shut it down because there was so much theft.

Yeah, it was operating as some kind of no name convenience store for a while after that.

^ These small owner-operated convenience stores are getting dumber sounding names... the former Mac's at Selkirk and Arlington is now known as "UR FOOD STORE".

I'm guessing it's not supposed to be named after the ancient Mesopotamian city, but rather the bastardized texting version of "Your"

I wonder of one of the big chains years ago had registered "your food store" as a trademark /service mark for future use?

There were rumours that they were going to open one up downtown and then it shifted to the Outlet Mall development. I heard they were looking for space and had contacted some developers (my friend being one of them) but nothing seems to have materialized as of yet. So, who knows?

I just know that I want in on a Cheesecake Factory franchise. It would kill in Winnipeg.

Artis has been (literally) schmoozing Earls executives trying to convince them to move into the restaurant space at Main & Graham... I really don't think they'll bite as it'll be much smaller. If Earls doesn't take it, I'm sure Cactus Club is the next tenant they would chase, or possibly Joey. Joey has long said it wants to be downtown, but isn't in a rush, and was waiting for the "right space" to come along before pulling the trigger. This is a great space.

The Cheesecake factory are beautiful spaces. Great desserts, not so much the entrees but spectacular places for sure.

Another brand I am shocked that is not here yet is Marchee' or Movenpick.
TNS would have been the ideal spot. Especially with the downsized LMC inside the fresh food offerings and selections are incredible.

I was just thinking about Movenpick the other day and how amazing it would be in one of the atrium's of Union Station like Brookfield Place in Toronto. But TN would be the natural choice for such a place.

That sidewalk is perfect for travel to the LC to pick up some Carlsberg beer. And it's a few degrees cooler in the parking garage if the sun is out.

$645k for 2200 sqft office/retail condo. that's a very tough pill to swallow for many small businesses

Has there has been a traffic accident already at Glasshouse? There is a bike hanging precariously from a third story balcony. It must have been going fast. Do you suppose Glasshouse is now haunted?

My building would never allow that sort of thing. What's next, laundry?

I don't get why people think balconies need to appear as if they are never used for anything. Are you the sort of person who also has a bunch of furniture that's just for show with plastic covers on it?

^ Balconies are such a funny thing, they are so seldom used yet they are so ubiquitous. I lived in a couple of condos with balconies and I have to admit I hardly ever used them, other than for barbequing, and my neighbours weren't much different. In our climate, they're basically unusable for nearly half the year anyway. But the funny thing is I would still have a hard time buying a condo without one... even if I were just to use it a few times a year.
