Martin Luther King, Jr. Way, Phases II and III. This is a $10.5 million project which should be underway next year. It's in the city's capital budget for 2015 and 2016. From what I understand, delays with the street levy led to it not going out to bid this year. So it should be in construction next year.
2.)
Sprague Avenue Revitalization. This is an $11.35 million project which the city anticipates receiving funding in phases, in 2016 for design, and 2017 and 2019 for two-phased construction. The city is currently working on grants for this series of projects. In sum, it will construct a three-lane version of Sprague from Division to Fiske. Landscaping, streetscape enhancements, stormwater improvements, bulb-outs, street trees, sidewalks, bike lanes, on-street parking, the whole nine yards.
The sum of these projects will be a very different South University District.
