I see. In the other pictures they looked like a concrete wall around for extra protection. That rendering made it look way better. I still don't like them though, I feel as they ruin the giant wall of the base. Some wooden benches that go around would be 'better' in my opinion. And the wall could e black granite or something with poems/quotes inscribed in them.

They do make the base seem more people friendly and more alive, instead of a concrete bunker. I'll have to way though, hopefully in the years to come better renderings will come out and as the building takes shape I'll get a better view/idea of how those 'bleachers' will work out.

Comparing those renderings to actual shots of the site, there doesn't appear to be enough room between the perimeter of 1WTC and the north pool to fit in all this plaza space and the new Fulton St. =\

There's no plaza along Fulton Street by 1WTC. The plaza is on the west and east sides of the building, but the building is directly abutting Fulton Street.

It would be nice if they could ship 3 columns by morning and put them up through out the day, instead of one day one column.

It probably takes a fulls day's shift to do one of those columns.

Good point forgot about the welding. I just figured out the webcam is fake right now, it has a picture from a week ago, and it isn't updating.

I have never seen the second to last picture before. It is...wow...No words. Looks like something from A.I. in which I would never think would be made or seen in real life. Nice, I hope that picture comes to life one day

In that second to last picture there are long simulated blurs for some of the tail lights but all of the people are perfectly still. Sniff. Lol.

Actually that's one of the first renderings of all the towers in place, and for some strange reason, the 1 WTC is the most twisted one(it looks like a parallelogram than a square). In the renderings of 1 WTC by itself found on Church Street, it gives a better view.

By the way, the earthcam is up again, but it's showing an old image.

Judging from the few extra red pixels on the "webcam looking north" image, today's install was the extension piece on the diagonal column. Hard to tell.

Looks like they have the corner columns up. It'll be interesting to see how they do the next two since Big Red is kind of boxed in now.

Remember, the tower is not in line with the rest of the towers on West Street, even tower 2. Just look at the footprint for the original 1 WTC to get an idea of the Freedom Tower's orientation.

Love looking at the massive columns...

I have never seen the tower move this fast.....construction for that matter. They have 4/6 colums tied in on the northeast corner, and now the rest of the pieces for the steel cage are being hauled in right now, and theyre being put in. The crane might just jump by late Sepember-early October!
