That police station would have been an awesome building to have though.

The second shot in this commercial was a former GTA coal burning power station.

Awesome commercial. Goodbye coal power plants!! Virtually eliminated most of our smog days since the Nanticoke plant closed.

That's too bad. I found that tower brutal and in your face enough it actually seemed stylish.

Is it wrong if I felt sorry for the poor cooling towers?

I blame The Brave Little Toaster for screwing with my mind as a child and making me sympathize with inanimate objects.

Hamilton, Ontario - Studebaker Plant Demolition

The Studebaker plant in Hamilton is being demolished to make way for the new Freeman Industrial Park.

The Freeman Industrial Park plan includes demolishing the Studebaker plant to make way for 22 industrial lots ranging from 0.71 acres to 1.5 acres, and a new road running from Victoria Avenue North and Wentworth Street. Part of the former Otis offices at the corner of Victoria and Ferrie streets will be maintained to preserve some of the historical character of the building.

Hamilton's Sanford Avenue School that was posted on page 4 as being threatened for demolition...

It didn't get saved...absolute shame...

I don't understand how someone can look it this and think "We should tear that down"

Abitibi Consolidated Newsprint Mill at Stephenville, Newfoundland and Labrador circa 2010.

75 metre smokestack and 55 metre boiler structure were imploded 5 years after the mill shut down, a victim of a dying industry. That said, the mill only opened in 1978 and was one of the most energy efficient in the country. If it had its own power supply like the mill in Corner Brook does, it would probably still be limping along today.
