FINAL POLL: Canadian Federal Election 2015

This is the final weekend before the election - so one final poll. :-)

Most recent other thread:

EDIT: Mentioned this below but wanted it to be up top too. Apologies to Bloc and Green voters that "Other" is above you. Just wanted the colours of the bars to align and I can't control those... it has to be this order for colours.

Not really. Two of those days are weekend days in which people traditionally don't pay attention to news or politics. That's why negative announcements are often made on Fridays. People are busy living their lives on the weekend.

Further, people also don't like changing their minds at the least minute. It's been a long campaign and most people have made their decision. The results are pretty much baked now, unless one of the candidates eats a baby live on national television.

This (non)story has far too little time to gain any real traction. I suspect that any slight trend back to the Conservatives in any of the polls are normal fluctuations that we've seen all election.

I'm predicting either a wafer thin Conservative minority (which the left subsequently topples in order to form a government) or a healthy Liberal minority.

I still wouldn't be shocked to see the Liberals flirt with a majority given that I'm not sure that the polls are adequately capturing the ABC movement.

Rooting for the Liberals to win federally. Voted NDP in this poll and for my riding as he's an incumbent who usually gets 70%+ of the vote.

Well I certainly wouldn't blame anybody for being depressed at the prospect of another Conservative majority, but I just don't think it's gonna happen.

Yeah, I'm firmly in the Liberal camp now. Prefer Green, but going Red for the ABH vote.

On another topic, what are people's thoughts on the Fixed election Date and the Monday Election day?

Personally, I'm liking both and would almost like to see it locked in as the "Monday after Thanksgiving" permanently (baring minority election calls). The only thing I'm slightly off about is having the Advance polls running on a holiday weekend. That sucks for the poll workers; but could be good for getting the University vote out.

That'd be great until you end up having a minority government with only 30 percent of the seats for half a decade.

Voting Liberal (Robert Falcon-Oulette) in my (usually) heavily supported NDP riding of Winnipeg Centre. The incumbent is MP Pat Martin, who is great for sound bites, but I think is in as close of a battle as he's had thus far.

Fixed election dates don't really work that well with our system. It's pointless to have a fixed election date when confidence in the government is lost.

This political campaign has wrecked me. I'd be supportive of fixed date elections as I seriously don't want to go to the polls again for at least 4 more years.
