So should the city never change anything then? If they are only going to screw things up? I don't care what happened on whatever lights you're talking about, if we are going to spend money on transitways and claim that the buses have signal priority, it is unacceptable to me to now see buses sat through entire light signals waiting for cars. Every single time.
My point was it's enough to build interchanges on the far north section to keep the line grade separated. I fully realize that they need more money to build the entire line--a ton more money!

You also clearly didn't get my point about the signalization. It's all related so if they can't do one thing what makes you think they can do the other? They probably have done what you want and fucked it up. Or maybe they're like me and don't care about buses having priority over cars. The city needs to face reality and just admit cars > transit and will be for a long time.

They could have at least grade separated the transit line from Harkness to Union station but the short sightedness of it all is incomparable. A project of this magnitude should transform a city and bring about a new way of thinking/living. And it honestly has done nothing to get people out of their cars.
Which is different from what Ottawa had for years, how?

The ION reportedly carried almost 300,000 passengers in the eleven free days up to July 1st.

Compilation of photos and a narrative describing the line when it's done.
One doesn't see the downtown street closure photos like YEG's as often.

Makes me cringe to see those tracks at grade through downtown Edmonton.
Why, why, why ?!

Gonna be nice to have an LRT connection to the airport. I don't know how much ridership it will get initially outside of airport employees but it's definitely a step in the right direction for "small town" Ottawa.

The Ottawa airport LRT plan is pure garbage. It will be far worse than existing bus service.

Not a fan of the plan. But I would imagine, the airport connector will not be the sole transit connection when Stage 2 opens. I imagine there would still be some bus route between Hurdman and the airport. And other east-west routes along Hunt Club running through the airport.
