^^ Love that reflection on your coffee table, THRILLHO. Unique perspective, that's for sure!

The coffee table effect is cool, but how this one blends with the lake colors is better:

Wow! Vista Tower is just speeding through construction, if only Chi-Town could get more supertalls

The cladding should be done in the next month or so I'm guessing, looking good

Tribune East tower at 1422 feet as well - hopefully they can get that one in. Also one of the 400 Lake Shore Drive south tower at 1100 feet but nobody publicly really knows what's happening with that.

Also, one of the One Chicago Square buildings which is U/C is technically 15 feet under being considered supertall. I think to the naked eye, this wont' be noticeable and it will seem like a short supertall. Also, the one proposal for LSE is also only 34 feet short of being considered supertall.

OCS is a significantly larger project than Vista when you consider total SF... Vista is 1.8 million SF and OCS is 2.2 million SF. That's more than 20% larger than Vista. Even though it's not as tall, it will be just as much fun to watch and probably have more impact on the skyline from the West and NW.

Yep. And there's been the discussion on here before on how one of the towers is 15 feet below supertall status. Just think about the fact that it's about 100 feet taller than both 900 N Michigan Avenue and Water Tower Place in a spot where it's going to be clearly visible from multiple vantage points far away, especially from the west.

But the one as far as supertall that has me most excited is the Tribune tower - hopefully that thing gets built.

I'd add NEMA phase II for another potential building in the 300 meter range. That makes 5.

True, although it's technically two towers, hence the square footage.

Does anybody know if the open wind floor is going to receive a paint job? I'm sorry if this has already been asked and answered.

^That's a good question, which has not been answered, to my knowledge.

Best case is they clad the columns with glass, and add a few more cladded columns to give the facade more of a continuous look.

Sure, but they are linked at the base with many floors of parking and lowrise podium and being built simultaneously. It's going to be considerably more impressive to watch than Vista. Just the amount of excavation they will be doing here is staggering. One of the biggest projects in recent memory in Chicago. Probably the largest project I will have watched except for maybe Trump Tower, but that wasn't as extensive at the base...

Man, that blow-thru was a really unfortunate last-minute necessity. What a major FU. I hope they are able to save face with some fine detailed dressing-up and lighting at night.
