I love it already, and it's already a fully fledged attraction. That's either good or bad, depending on your view. But it's already at a level that I wouldn't have expected on it's first week.
One thing I will note, you can feel it shake a little at the top, but that's to be expected.

I've heard people calling it the "honeycomb". Related wants people to come up with ideas based on experiencing it. I haven't settled on one yet though.

Took a lot of pics, a few for now...

We should let the Brits name it. They have a knack for that. The "Shard", "Gherkin", "Eye", Cheesegrater", etc.

Following Outcry, Hudson Yards Tweaks Policy Over Use of Vessel Pictures

Quote:
Now visitors “retain ownership of any photographs, text, audio recordings or video footage depicting or relating to the Vessel” that they create.

But if you want to send that photo out to your Instagram fans, you still “hereby grant to Company and its affiliates the right to repost, share, publish, promote and distribute the Vessel Media via such social media channel and via websites associated with the Vessel or Hudson Yards (including my name, voice and likeness and any other aspects of my persona as depicted in the Vessel Media), in perpetuity.”

It was a slight tweak — but one that was more similar to what most museums and other public venues currently have, according to Mr. Romano.

Perhaps. Either way, if they don't come up with a name for it soon, it'll forever be what it is, the "Vessel".

I love it. I hope it has on point security, because of safety issues.

I know it's a morbid and distressing thought, but there is NO suicide prevention in place on this structure.

I have to imagine an unfortunate Bobst Library-style situation in the future .

Looks pretty great!

I was also curious about suicide prevention and security.

This is what I thought as well, the whole thing screams "please commit suicide on me".

Aesthetically it's quite gimmicky and tacky, functionally it's utterly pointless.

Pointless....

The thing is already drawing crowds of people who enjoy it. That's the point of it.

As far as suicide prevention, the city is full of places where you could off yourself if you wanted to. Somebody brings it up whenever something new is built, yet the city still survives without a surge of suicides taking place. Go figure. But hey, if you won't enjoy it, that's your thing. More than enough people have and will.

Already a thing, a little sooner than I expected. It's still a relatively unknown attraction, and yet...
