Argentina - paraMisAmigos [78 images]

Can I trust Claudia to translate? There's one photograph of the wife and me, crossing the Beagle Channel in a gale force wind. Hopefully that is payment enough.

Argentina is way too big of a country. It's tall like Canada is wide. The difference is when you visit Canada over a month you'll really get a more consistent temperature. In Argentina I went from lows around 0 overnight in Patagonia and Ushuaia to daytime highs around 38 and rain near Iguazu Falls. I swore I was going to die when I got off the plane near the falls.

But it is such a pretty country. The people are so friendly. The food is great. The landscapes are dreamy surreal. Buenos Aires is spectacular.

I never got a chance to go to the Northern Patagonia region or the areas around Cordoba and Mendoza so I'm hoping circumstances can bring me back some day during the grape harvest season.

Oh Home, the photos are absolutely spectacular! I´m glad you had a good time there (I say `there` because I´m living in Europe now) and that you liked it so much. A pity that you couldn´t visit Córdoba or Mendoza, though. They´re beautiful places too and different from what you got a chance to see.
Which place did you like the most? Hard to say, eh?
Best picture: you and your wife on the boat with the flag in the background!

Claudinha....!! yuuuhuuu....! you´ve got work to do!!!

Wow, HomeInMyShoes. Your pictures are simply wonderful. What a trip you did! Ushuahia, Mar del Plata, Baires, Iguazu (and all those between I could say)

It's good to see how non-residents tend to capture unknown angles from the city, including those that seem to be hidden for us. If you have still more pictures, post them.

Who much time did you stayed here?

Regards
Pablo

Just in case.... I did my Homework...

Vendimia: grape harvest season, I guess

El de la foto es él y su mujer en el Canal de Beagle.

The payment is fair enough, Home!

@Aleyds: Not a hard question for me. As much as I loved Buenos Aires and Iguazu was spectacular I would go back to Fitz Roy in a heartbeat.

@pablozar: We spent a month in Argentina. Maybe too much time backpacking in Southern Patagonia, but the scenery did not disappoint.

@Sottovoce: Amazing places make for nice photos. I really do wish I had my new camera though.

@patriciasgbr: I know I need to: lakes country, Aconcagua, the Mendoza area. It is just too big a country to try and fit everything in. I wish I lived there. So many cool things to do and reasonably easy to get to. Here in St. John's, I'm trapped by an eight-hour flight to get to Calgary or Edmonton,. although it is the same time to get to the British Isles so maybe I will try for Ireland or Scotland.

@Claudia: thanks for the translation.

There are more photos in my Argentina/Chile set here, but they aren't quite organized chronologically yet. It covers about a third of the photos I took there.

What did you find about prices? Cheap, expensive, moderate? I'm living at Milan at this moment and there are lots of friends that ask me about costs at Patagonia but I can't never answer this matter.
