Both times the Jazz had to take the on the best of the best of super stars with Michael Jordan. Only to lose and see Jordan win this 5th and 6th NBA Championship. After Jordan's retirement in 1999 as Jazz fans we all thought that this would be our time. But what happen next?....There was a NBA lockout and since after that it was all about the Lakers and Spurs.
10 years later....The State of Utah has a new team, Real Salt Lake. And this Sunday it's Real's turn to made it to a finals. ( MLS Cup ) But can these guys pull it off when the Jazz had failed in the pass? Once again Utah has to face the best of the best of superstars with David Beckham who in the pass has been a winner. This sunday might be the last MLS game for a little while since next year there could be a MLS lockout. Really?....Both times with both the Jazz and Real there's going to be a Lockout? Both times both teams had to play the best players ever known to the sport? Just like the NBA finals with Jordan this is going to be Beckhams final MLS year. ( Or so he says ) So just like before the world is going to watch the superstar as they all hope for Utah to lose. It's history repeating itself. Will it be different this time? All signs point to no.

Easy fella, Beckham is certainly not the best ever to play the sport. Not even close. He is definately a top 5 MLS talent at the moment and was an even better player 5 years ago, but has had no where near the impact on his sport that Jordan had on basketball. That kind of comparison has to be reserved for Pele, Maradonna and maybe (big maybe) Ronaldinho. Beckham has a fantastic service and midfield savy, but those other guys have owned so much more. I see Beckham as comparable to some of the great Italians. He's a strong midfielder who can play physically and deliver great touch at the right time. He's never been an explosive attacking player.
