The roads look really wet in the first picture. Has it been raining still? Crazy weather this year in Texas.

And I love the way they redid the parking lot by Auditorium Shores. That whole area looks so much better than before.

Oh, yes, it's still been raining. Not as much as May, but it was the 3rd rainiest June Austin has ever recorded. I think it was only the second week of June and we already had our full years worth of rain. Crazy.

You know what's really crazy? (This goes a bit off topic) but I did some estimates on what we could end up with in rainfall by the end of December. Using my meteorological knowledge and considering variables. It is likely we will end up somewhere between 65 and 70 inches which would break the all time record yearly rainfall set in 1919. Very facenating and mind boggling. I've also confered with a friend who is a pro met, in fact he is one of the local news head mets, and he agrees with my assessment.

Even though this is off topic, in a way it does relate to construction when you consider the delays and changing timelines that developers have to deal with. I know they take into account weather delays from the get go but this has been an exceptional year in that regard. I wonder how this has affected North Shore and other projects? For example if they are a couple of weeks or possibly a month from the origional completion date or if they have been able to cope with little time delay.

Lovely pictures!!! The Downtown skyline is getting more and more impressive each day. North Shore may end up as one of my top 5 favorite highrises. It's not just about the building itself or its design. For me it also has to do with its location and placement in the skyline and how it relates to surrounding towers. It's location makes it one of the most dominant waterfront highrises.

That is crazy. It'll be interesting to see what happens between now and December.

It appears to have only three more floors to go.

While the form of this building is simple.
It's a very Handsome building.
I love the Charcoal Brick and the other material details especially for an apartment building.

Yeah, I really like it. I think it would have looked ok being brown like in the original renderings, too, but it would have looked more like an office building as we said with that uniformed "suit" look. This looks softer and more homelike. I'm really liking the dark grey and the way it complements the white facade and the windows. And for once, we aren't getting another blue glass tower. I'm glad they went with something different.

I agree, and I think the choice of materials along with the simple post-modern geometry of the setbacks really ties it together with some of the 80s buildings along Congress. It fits in well with One Congress Plaza, 100 Congress, and One American Center.

Great observation about the setbacks!

The white really pops out, too, so it's not just a dark box. I'm glad for that - I do like the darker color over brown, personally.

This building is the rare exception where it out does the renderings. Usually it's the opposite and buildings don't look as sophisticated as originally drawn out. I however think that this building will look much better at street level.
