Trump Tower is about as uninspiring as the Donald. The design is rather old-school, no balconies, 8ft. ceiling, small size rooms. And to build it on a platform of parking garage is really just a cost saving method.

The Trump name is far from the first thing one will see coming from the south. It is nearer to Sahara Ave. which is officially the north end of the strip.

The Donald is a cariacature and will never be on the A list of Vegas like Kerkorian, Wynn, Addelson and the like. The name to watch as an up and comer is Bruce Eichner.

I am not a fan of the Trump tower. I think there was already too much gold along the strip, and I am still shocked that Trump was able to sell his condos when they only have 8' ceilings. I know they are going to build another one, but I just wish they weren't.

Trump

WHY IS EVERYONE SO NEGATIVE ON TRUMP ON THIS SITE?
It's a good product and actually getting built. he has alot more credibility them most projects ont he strip that flashed alot of brochures and built nothing. Atleast he is committed to making his project successful. I sense many just don't like him so you hate the building. - Get used to it, it's not going anywhere!

trump hater

You are correct when you claim that I dont like trump. I have never liked a self-promoter, wind bag, publicity hound, Sorry! I prefer a person who gives an occasional interview, says what he has to say, then does what he has to do. No bravado, it is childish and you wonder why some cant include trump in the same context as serious people. Read the names on my previous post, they are serious people, like them or dislike them, but they are no trumps.

As to the trump tower, it has been discussed ad naseum why some of us dont like his project. If it were a great project, I would say so, even though I dont like him. I like some of Mussolini's buildings in Rome, just not the guy, see the difference?

Which building on the strip were alot of hot-air? All I see on the strip is cranes building billions of dollars in projects, more than anyone would have ever dreamed of. Which projectsare you claiming were proposed for the strip and cancelled?

I'm with you there, and to think they call it luxury... 9' ceilings are the minimum expected today, especially in a luxury condo...

hey razz, how you doing! For me, as long as people want to stay at trump and it gets good rental revenue, it is a good project or investment, and I think people will want to stay at Trump because it is Trump. Trump got his own stander in luxury, more in a arrogant way, some people don't like it but TRUST ME lots of people LOVE IT, over all I think the project will be very success and the new Plaza will also help this project big time!

The Real Story on Trump Buildings

I do not know the full story behind this building, but I would suspect like the other twenty Trump projects across america that a group of investors came to him and offered him a share of the profit if he would put his name on the project. He "offered" to build a casino in Biloxi, then Gulfport, then Diamondhead. Him "offering" meant that there were sites about to be developed, and he would put his name on it for a whopping 15% gross. No one took him up on that "great" offer to say the least.

And the strip projects that were cancelled in droves were.....?

And what else did you learn at your attendance at the local trump real estate seminar? You do a good imitation of trump and his bluster. Very cute.

Are you 100% sure that Trump will only have 8 foot ceilings or are you guys assuming based on the height of the building divided by number of floors??

Whats wrong with 8foot ceilings anyway?? Even the likes of Shaq and Paul Wight would have a full foot to work with Are all the really rich people buying into this condo market craze as tall as Robert Wadlow or something?

Laguna, If you would take the time to read the first page of this thread, the cancelled projects are listed (complete with photos). Many people jump to the last page and start posting, asking questions that can be easily answered by reading the thread. just saying

^ many projects have indeed been canceled - but just because trump got his off the ground doesnt make him a great - or even a good - guy, just one with good business sense.

a side note: imo, hes only good at business cuz he takes advantage and uses people. as for the tower, its aight - but i agree with laguna that one is enough.

'projects on the strip' is what prompted my question. Not all over town, but actually strip property, not like trump tower, which is not on the strip. I went to vt&t and found alot of projects that received some amount of promotion but I did not count any significant number that were proposed 'for the strip' and then cancelled. I guess you could use Ivana's Trump tower of a joke to make your point.

Like I said there has not been a significant amount of cancellation of 'strip' properties. If I am wrong I will stand corrected by all you xperts. Otherwise dont bloviate.

The street address for 'rump is 3128 Las Vegas Boulevard South.

'rump does not have 64 floors, it's actually only 57 floors. They number the floors from the top down.

That's right, 'rump (love the new name) is connected to the Frontier land and is as close to the strip as many other strip towers (i.e. Caesar's "Palace Tower" and THEHotel) The address is for the sales office (which is on the strip). The Towers will have a Fashion Show Lane address. It will ultimately be connected to The Plaza, so, for all intent and purpose, it is a strip project.

Laguna's right though, about strip developments. The only cancellations are Ivana, Montreux and Maxim. One could count Icon too, as it was only 400' from the strip. And all of them, save Icon, are better off dead - IMHO.

As long as I'm posting, I'll throw in my two cents about the 'rump Tower(s)

-Boring design
-Ugly (tacky) color
-Low ceilings
-small uninteresting units
-No balconies
-Adult bookstores and sex shops as neighbors
-Lovely parking garage curb appeal

I don't care who built it, it's just not a good project. mttbox is right, people will love it 'cause it has the 'rump name on it. The same folks that think Starbucks (over-roasted) coffee is actually good and Prada shoes are worth $1,000.

I think Trump LV is, OK. I like the design of the Tower, but the TRUMP or in this case 'rump logo ruins it. Imagine when the 2nd tower is done. YUCK.

Its kool how it centers looking down at The Strip, but come one, can you can a bigger Ego? First thing you'll notice going down the strip is TRUMP.

Hmm 57 Floors, what a lie, 64 floors yeah right. Its not as bad as THEhotel's top floor, that magically goes from floor 42 to 64. :haha

So mdiederi if Trump has only 57 floors that means ceiling height should be 10.9 feet or thereabouts??
