PROVINCE ANNOUNCES FUNDING TO HELP DEVELOP BEEF PACKING PLANT IN PRINCE GEORGE

ByAdam Reaburn -June 2, 2018 1:34 pm

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. – The Province of B.C. has announced up to $450,000 to help fund the planning and development of a beef packing plant in Prince George.

If the Prince George plant becomes fully operational, the North would gain an estimated 80 full-time in the plant by 2020, and an additional 620 spin-off jobs.

“I am excited to support the amazing people who work in our ranching sector in the North and throughout the province,” said Lana Popham, Minister of Agriculture. “This project has the potential to ensure B.C. cattle are bred, raised and finished in our province, providing retailers, suppliers, restaurants and consumers with great quality B.C. beef. This can provide an economic boost to rural B.C. and give consumers what they want.”

Hi guys, a few more photos of some of the projects currently going on up in PG

This is the addition to the show lounge at the Treasure Cove casino (approx. 30k sq feet). I do believe they are also adding 45 more rooms to hotel, but I can't confirm start date.

New apartments being built in College Heights area

New condos almost complete in the "crescents" area downtown

Link for the Park House Prince George condos being built downtown

Another update. The Student housing project that I added link for is starting construction very soon. A new 5 story Hyatt Hotel is being built downtown at the intersection of Dominion and 6th and has already begun clearing site. You can view this construction via the city of Prince George YouTube channel as well as the condo's under construction on corner of George and 6th.

The expansion to the Treasure Cove Hotel at corner of 16 /97 has begun (45 more rooms I believe). I can no longer post photos as I moved back east. Hopefully someone else will help keep this thread going.

Another new development starting now in PG. This is just an artistic rendering,so not sure how final product will look. George Street is really seeing a lot of changes.

First mixed-use building for PG! Very cool. Hopefully a sign of things to come.

Interesting to read of the 2 Kamloops companies that are investing in projects in the downtown. I've seen A&T developments around here and up at Sun Peaks. It looks like they do nice work.

The Park House condominium looks to be coming along too according to the website.

Absolutely correct. I just meant we aren't physically able to see. Once crane goes up, we may be able to follow progress via city of PG's youtube channel which has a camera facing towards it(not a correct angle, but I'm sure they can adjust). New building will rise just across from the Keg Restaurant. Also, I just read on city's website that building permits have exceeded $200 million so far this year!! Three years in a row where they have reached 170 or higher. Not bad!

Regarding the camera angle from the PG's YouTube channel, would be great if the would move it to give us a better viewing angel of this particular project!
