On my recent visit to KC, the Kaufman Center blew me away. In fact, all the good stuff happening around downtown KC was exciting. Your pictures are brilliant.

Great shots, I particularly enjoy the photos that show a lot of context (skyline + lowrise) as well as the underlying and surrounding geography of downtown KCMO, which I think is unique. I think Kansas City is one of the last cities that people expect to have fairly striking perspectives like it does because of Kansas City having the word Kansas in it and the stereotype of Kansas being flat. In fact, KCMO is one of the hilliest larger cities in the midwest probably only behind Cincy (PGH if you throw that in).

The landscaping looks great on the slopes by the PAC.

Great pictures! Love the skyline and street level views. Very cool building. I can't wait to see it in person.

Very beautiful and iconic building, impressive interiors and exteriors. Great skyline pics too, KC has such an incredible stock of historical gems.

KC seems to have a very generous philanthropic community. That place looks amazing.

Wow! Great Shots!

For the most part, I love the building - but there are a couple little things that bug me. (Though I hate to be the typical Kansas Citian who complains about every new bold piece of architecture).

I think the coloring in the opera hall is a bit tacky and already looks dated (not looking forward to seeing how it holds up in 20 years). Also, I wish the front facing sloping roof part was clad in the same stainless-steel type material as the back.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this building.

Not too sure about the location though. I'll have to see it in person next time I'm in KC.

The Kauffman family have been very good to Kansas City. Every city needs people like them.

First and foremost the photos are great - as always.

When I first saw the renderings for this, I thought it had great potential - but I'm probably in the minority; I'm not a fan of the finished product. At least from what I can see in these and other photos I've seen. It's a very dramatic building but something just doesn't gel right - maybe it's the enormous swaths of blank concrete, the seemingly isolated setting... does that make sense?

I'll be in KC this weekend and I look forward to checking this out. I'm not that familiar with the Crossroads but it looks sort of isolated from the pictures.
