I disagree. Americans are stuck at the "proportional" city center skyline. Go look at something like Tokyo. Random towers popping up near and around a super city can be very tasteful if not beautiful.

Sweet Pic!... I counted 36 floors the other day, so that leaves six floors until it tops out

It has taken many many years but finally this area of LIC is getting cleaned up and getting somewhat corporate...although there still a few "adult" lap dance clubs around....

Carlos - great pictures as always. The first one is fantastic! I wonder if phase II of Court Square 2 will ever happen.

It's gotta be topped out or very close to it.

Thank god all the "kids" lapdance clubs closed years ago. They were so annoying, what with the strollers and the crying and the cotton candy stuck everywhere.

On topic: Many of the shots make it look like they've been bricking up the base. Anyone care to walk by it? Grab yourself a drink at dutch kills while you're over there. You'll thank me later.

There are SOME holes in the ground north of Queens Plaza. Are many of them being worked on these days?

But New York isn't the average "American city".It has the great density and population to accomplish that.
