Post New Sound System at GM Place

Found these pics at the Canucks.com forums. Not finished yet, but looks way better than the underpowered Bose system we had before. The speakers are from L'Acoustics (dv-DOSC, sv-SUB, and V-DOSC).

Quote:
8 cabinets, two 18" speakers per cabinet 3000 watts (I think, although I might be wrong) per speaker. Per cluster. Times two clusters.

Quote:
"Soundcraft Li6 digital console. The whole system connects through a fibre-optic network strung throughout the building, so the console can be placed anywhere, plug in the fibre optic and power cables, and you're set."

interesting... those speakers were up when I went to the Janet Jackson concert and the sound in GM Place was very noticeably worse than the last concert I saw there, and both times I was sitting in the same general area.

I didn't think that concerts used the in-house speakers?

I don't think they've done that since the '60s!

I've never been to an arena show where they used a house system. They're just not powerful enough for concerts.

Yeah, sorry... unfortunately that sound you were hearing was just Janet Jackson.

No matter what sound system you use, you won't get good sound!
