Fiancée of Canucks forward Pyatt dies in car crash

Last Updated: Friday, April 3, 2009 | 1:08 PM ET
CBC Sports

The fiancée of Vancouver Canucks forward Taylor Pyatt was killed in a car accident in Jamaica, according to the Canadian Press.

Carly Bragnalo was killed Thursday while on holidays. The two were to be married this summer.

The 27-year-old forward is in his third season for Vancouver after being traded from Buffalo in 2006. He has appeared in all 69 games this season, with 10 goals and nine assists.

Pyatt is reportedly heading back to his hometown of Thunder Bay, Ont.

It is the second road fatality to strike the Canucks organization within a year. Defenceman Luc Bourdon, 21, died after a motorcycle crash in New Brunswick last May.

My condolences to him, his family, and his friends for this terrible loss...it's always a tragedy when people die far too young. Hopefully, he gets all the time he needs to grief...

RIP.

This is really sad. May she rest in peace.

The Canucks have had it tough this past year.
