Didn't take a picture, but enjoyed a feast of roast pigtails last night. My annual concession to Oktoberfest.

Local delicacy. Think of the richest, most tender BBQ pork rib crossed with a turkey neck and you'll have an idea (sort of) of what pigtails are like. They are usually roasted in a bbq/tomato sauce, but sometimes you get them in a brown sauce that is yummy too.

OMG, and ketchup too... I'm so jealous. I could hurt meself on those. ;-) Delicious.

We had a traditional Christmas Eve dinner - salt fish.

For us, cod tongues and cheeks.

And some lassie bread with butter and molasses later.

Since I'm in Spain now, I've been eating Catalan food mostly.

For Christmas "brunch" this afternoon we had mimosas with prawns, followed by Catalan-style cannelloni and then lots of sweets such as torron, neules, polveron, and crepes soaked in Cointreau.

There was also lots of wine.

Yummy, but,

Are you sure? This is more like a ''Pâté à la viande'' !

Had some homemade tourtière pie last night (stepdad is from Quebec) and it was amazing. Alongside way too much delicious cheese and other appetizers.

Tonight I get to have…. short ribs. For Christmas dinner. Not hugely impressed.

We had homemade tourtiere a few days ago (Sunday). Monday we had Guinness Stew. Tuesday we smoked pork chops and roasted veggies (both the stew and pork chops were at my parents rural property while winter camping). Last night we had various finger foods (tradition in my family) and then today we finally had the full turkey dinner.

Christmas Day Jigg's dinner.

I can hardly walk. Clockwise from top, , salt beef ribs, pease pudding, turkey, dressing, and cabbage. There was potato and peas and carrots and all that too but I don't eat it if there's pease pudding instead. Fills the same niche and tastes better.

And a boiled blueberry pudding with custard for dessert.
