This project has already been discussed on the board, figured it's signifcate enough to warrant it's own thread. The north end of the Granville Bridge is certainly densifying quickly.

This project is now being redesigned to accommodate the additional density now that Peter Wall has purchased and already demolished the 'Garden Suites' belonging to the Chateau Granville next to the AIDS Vancouver building.
This suggestion was strongly encouraged at the open house some months ago.

This one is going to council on the 23rd with a recommendation to be sent to a public hearing most likely in May. Didn't notice anything significantly different from the original proposal. It's tied to the Wall project at 1320 Richards.

Vancouver Sun article on the contribution to 1107 Seymour from Wall Financial of $24 million from the 1320 Richards project, as mentioned by JLousa, above.

so is 1121 / 1111 Seymour going to be Condo? Market Rental? or Social housing?

I'm confused but the 2 floor "house" on the left side of the project seems to indicate it being Condo.

This was approved unanimously by council May 15th. Demolition however won't occur until either mid or late 2014.

Looking at the PDF with the floorplates on the office levels there are three bathrooms: women's, handicapped, and "other."

What's up with that?

As Klazu mentioned on the Downtown Vancouver Updates thread, demolition of 1107 has begun. Second pic is from today.

Well, almost gone now. It's always a little strange when a building disappears and you're left with a temporary view that you didn't have before. Like the second pic where you can see across Helmcken to Emery Barnes Park.

Thanks for the pics.

I had always thought that site would have made for a great station entry for a future Canada Line Station (with a station box under Emery Barnes Park).
i.e. the eliminated "Nelson Station".

Hmh, didn't realize that Canada Line runs under this property. But you are right - having more stations in Downtown would improve our rail transportation.

Canada Line actually doesn't go under this site - it runs under Davie, turns under Brava just to the south of this site, then under Granville - but if the tunnel were straightened for a station, it could have easily "cut the corner" and been routed under the park and this site (and avoided the foundation settlement issues under Brava).
