Brigil Buildings are usually pretty decent. Clean, modern, quality material. Miles ahead of Claridge.

Turns out it's two towers, with the tallest one to be built first.

Apparently yes. It's called Apogee 99 Parkdale and 121 Parkdale. 28 and 32 floors.

Press release
For immediate distribution

Object : Brigil construction begins at 121 Parkdale

Ottawa, October 10th 2017 – Brigil continues to build quality communities in Ottawa. Condominiums towers Apogee
99 Parkdale and 121 Parkdale are next on the list, a $ 200 million spin off! Construction of 121 Parkdale has begun.

The purchase of the land for 99 Parkdale has been concluded last week, a great opportunity for Brigil.

Therefore, Brigil announces two luxuous towers of 28 and 32 floors that will be built a few minutes away from the Outaouais River and 3.5 km from downtown, in
Mechanicsville, a perfect place for natures and urban life lovers. Public transports are also close by.

99 and 121 Parkdale will be crafted same as all Apogee communities: for people wanting a quiet still dynamic life, without the management. Hotel life at home, designed for all, ideal for professionals and young and active retirees. The two towers will contain almost 600 modern condos offered in various styles and types.

Residents will have access to over 20 000 sq ft of common spaces (urban
salon, restaurant, pool spa, gym, locker-rooms, multifunctional room and a roof
terrace), elevators and secured entries.

99 and 121 Parkdale will be erected in front of Tunney’s Pasture, a large federal
government complex.

Residents will have a very quick access to transports, walking and bicycle paths, promenades and main roads, interprovincial bridges, Queensway, and streets reserved to walkers, bus and O-Train. Brigil CEO, Mr Gilles Desjardins, is proud that public consultations over Pre Tunney’s master plan have been successful.

A MAGICAL CONCEPT

Apogee 99 Parkdale and 121 Parkdale will provide a five stars hotel way of living to everyone, especially professionals and young retirees.

«We promise an extraordinary concept, proudly claims Gilles Desjardins. People choosing the Apogee 99 Parkdale and 121 Parkdale will radically change their life and the two sumptuous buildings located in Mechanicsville will also treat residents with spectacular city views and over the Outaouais River.»

According to Gilles Desjardins, bold projects like this must exist at a time when people want as many quality accommodations as possible under the same roof. Apogee 99 Parkdale and 121 Parkdale are two more examples of his dreams becoming reality.

You can visit the Apogee 460 St-Laurent in Vanier and many Apogee projects will soon be offered in the capital region with the projects Baseline, Kanata Lakes, Center, Petrie’s Landing, Le Columbia, Ambassade Champlain, Horizon, Les Tours
Lucerne and Domaine du Vieux-Port among others.

More infos : brigil.com

A pre-launch event will be held very soon. Go to brigil.com to receive your invitation! You will also find a brochure on Apogee 99 Parkdale and 121 Parkdale projects.

I was just going to write something like that. The above has to be one of the more poorly written releases I've read. You'd think a marketing focal would do better than that.

Anyway, looking forward to the project.

Edit: although, I do give bonus points for his description of the buildings as "sumptuous".

I was particularly fond of the word sumptuous as well. By far the best part of the release!

The towers aren't great, but they aren't terrible either. I wish they had setback the upper floors a little, to reduce that hulking-behemoth effect these are going to create.

At least they varied the heights a little -- that's HUGE in a city like Ottawa!

Love the ground floor retail. Hopefully it turns into a coffee shop or something that would activate that strip past 5 PM.

A coffee shop would do wonders for that area, that's for sure!

Hopefully a nice restaurant, and even a fast food place -- something like a Subway or Mucho Burrito -- would do really well during the day, and keep people around after 5:00.

Variation only came from acquiring two separately shrink-wrap zoned sites, to be fair.

Given the target market for residents is, "Hotel life at home, designed for all, ideal for professionals and young and active retirees," I would say they would want something a bit more upscale than a Subway or Mucho Burrito.

You think? They appear to be two towers on the same pedestal, but that may be just cosmetics.

Per a couple posts up, they acquired 121 from Tega and 99 from Urbandale after they had both been rezoned for their projects.

The Subway or Mucho Burrito were just suggestions, and would serve the surrounding community (which is not all upper scale) as well as the Tunney's crowd during working hours.
