Vancouver: Getting ready for its Olympic close-up (PART III)

PART I:http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=177682
PART II: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=178434

A continuation of the largely Olympic-related photos I took around Vancouver yesterday:

The Province of Alberta's pavilion, still u/c...

Outside BC Place, home of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies...

One of the 'LiveCity' sites, official party / entertainment venue. This one is at Georgia and Beatty streets. Unfortunately it was surrounded by high fencing so I couldn't get any pics of the venues inside, though you can just make out part of the Province of Manitoba's pavilion in this shot...

Lot of people exiting Stadium-Chinatown SkyTrain station. There was an opening ceremonies rehearsal at BC Place last night and it seemed a lot of the spectators (mostly Olympic volunteers) got off here.

Recently installed replica 'W' on the new Woodward's redevelopment...

Georgia Viaduct closed to traffic for remainder of the games. Olympic rings to the left on GM Place ("Canada Hockey Place" during the games), home of Olympic hockey and usual home of the NHL's Vancouver Canucks...

Entrance to the Dunsmuir Viaduct, also closed to traffic for the remainder of the games

Sun Tower

Some closures in on Abbott Street...

Banner on GM Place

Security zone

National pride

Concord Place on the northeast side of False Creek, site of several additional pavilions including the Provinces of Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, and 'Molson Hockey House'

Science World, home of 'Russky Dom' the Russian pavilion for the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics with part of the Olympic Village to the right

One man has built a ton of inuksuit (plural of inukshuk) along the shore. There are always a few along here but the place is absolutely covered in them now.

This is the guy

Looking across to the heart of the Athlete's Village. Some sort of event going on over there. There was music blaring the whole time while I was in the area.

I believe this is the China pavilion

Ontario pavilion

Large wayfinding(?) pylon

Looking into the security zone around BC Place. The row of tents is where security screening of spectators / media personnel etc. will take place.

Inside Concord Place. Concord is a large Vancouver-based property development firm responsible for redeveloping a huge swath of downtown on the former Expo '86 lands. This pavilion site is some of the last land yet to be developed.

Ontario pavilion again

Quebec pavilion

Entrance to Molson Hockey House. It will be a large hockey-centric entertainment venue run by Molson, Canada's largest beer brewer.

Statue outside...

Crowd streaming into the security zone - spectators of the opening ceremonies rehearsal going on that night at BC Place

Olympic Athlete's Village across False Creek

This dome is part of the Saskatchewan pavilion

Plenty members of Team Russia hanging around outside

After taking the SkyTrain back downtown, I came across this crazy blue Russian mouse, accompanying Russian team members and media. Another forumer informed me this character is called "Cheburashka" (thanks Yume-Sama).

And a few more Omega bobsled pics

This guy was filming them

And random picture of Carmana Plaza tower as I walk home

The end.
