Nice, I've heard of this building before
Should be a nice addition to the "second half" of the L.A. skyline

NIIICE! First time I've seen a full rendering of the tower. I can't wait to see this one up!

There are about at least 3 more towers for Century City in the pipeline. Two twin residential condo towers right next to the twin Century towers that exist now and Westfield replacing their office headquarters with a condo tower.

I really like the building and think it'll fill in the gap between the Century Plaza towers and Fox Plaza (when viewed from the west) nicely. Here's a pic I took from our condo nearby, off Beverly Glen/Olympic. As of Oct 16, there were two fully-operational cranes on site...

Next time I'll take a wider shot, too...

Hey everone, I snapped a few more pics. Not much has changed really... there wasn't any steel in the air as of 3 pm on Halloween, but maybe they had the day off

Here's a wide shot...

...And a closer view.

This is above Ave of the Stars, the thick tangles of rebar are getting taller, and there is an elevated concrete pump, this is well past foundation and now rising. I last saw the site 2 weeks ago, so this thing is probably higher.

It looks more dated than the adjacent buildings.

Funny, this is the second tallest building in all of the L.A. metro going up currently, and there are hardly any posts about it.

I drove past the site today along Olympic Blvd. It looks as though they've completed two or three stories. I took some photos from afar and it hasn't poked through the trees yet. I'll try to get closer in the coming days...

Alas no camera...

Drove by yesterday and this thing is going to tower over Olympic. Weird to not see the St. Regis on that site though...it wasn't that bad a tower!

As of 12/22, the building is clearly above ground. I can't really tell how many floors have been built just by looking out from our rooftop, however. Here are some pics:

Here is the update on The Century from the website:

January 2008

The tower structure has reached level 8 with a 6-day-per-floor cycle. The MEP rough-in is progressing through level 3 and the top track has begun on level 3 and 4. The exterior skin of precast for the high-rise and exterior stone for the low-rise is set to begin this month.

All pictures from Webcor

Wow, the 'century city' building will drastically change the Century City skyline.

^ Yeah, I may have said it before but the view looking northeast will change as this tower will fill in the gap between the Century Plaza ("twin") towers on the left and the Fox Plaza on the right.

Why was the building that used to be on this site demolished? What was that building?
