I just got a FlightAware alert for a KLM 744, departing YYC for SFO today at 1316.

It's flight 605 and is operating AMS-SFO right now, is it diverting to YYC?

If FR24 is correct - it should be PH-BFH in KLM Asia Livery. Is it medical related diversion?

Lol, careful what you post around here. The truth vultures are always circling, ready to pounce, wielding talons of fire and damnation. Oh wait, I'm thinking of airliners.net. You are allowed tongue-in-cheek commentary here.

YEG requires an early morning flight.

YQQ requires an overnight in YYC in both directions.

YYJ works in both directions however the YYJ-YYC-YBR direction only leaves 30 minutes for connection in YYC. It is WS reliance on short connections that is causing their abismal ontime stats for the past two quarters.

If WS has to hold the YBR bound flight for connecting YYJ and YEG pax, this will cascade into a delayed return flight in addition to the afternoon YYC-YEG Encore flight (the inbound YBR flight would make a natural next flight the 3pm YEG departure. IF WS does not hold the YBR bound flight, pax must be held in YYC for an additional day. Overall if the plan is to rely on short connections from YEG and YYJ, the schedule needs to be slightly later in the day.

On the other hand, there are a few offside ticketting tricks that are openning up. Time to look at hiding YYC when comming from Eastern Canada. This will drive the WS and Encore revenue controllers to start by Mylanta and Zantax at Costco.

CADORS for KLM diversion is out but kind of empty.

At 1335Z, a KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Boeing 747 400 (KLM281) from Amsterdam (EHAM) to San Francisco, CA (KSFO) diverted to Calgary, AB (CYYC). No reason given and no assistance required. No operational impact.
