Hmm, the blank wall didn't really bother me, but I see what you're saying. I wonder if they'll redevelop the building directly to the east? At least they used some type of paneling system rather than leaving it bare concrete like other buildings in the city (*cough* Hyatt Times Square *cough*).

Off topic, but I would love to see that public housing at the bottom center of the photo (below) redeveloped as a high density, mixed income, mixed use project. Unlikely in the near future, but I can always dream.

I think it's very likely in the near future. NYCHA (the city's public housing authority) is already selling off land for new development, and they're now starting to redevelop some buildings.

But NYC will never just demolish its projects like other cities. If certain buildings are demolished, they will have to be replaced with on-site mixed income towers.
