With 10 and 30 full, this will have to be sped up a bit...

Just north of Coach’s building, the larger 30 Hudson Yards is rising, set to become the new home of Time Warner Inc. Last month, Related announced an agreement with the law firm Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy LLP for space at 55 Hudson Yards, one of two additional skyscrapers planned for the project’s eastern phase. A deal would bring that 1.3 million-square-foot tower to about 26 percent leased. For the rest of 55 Hudson Yards, “there are more term sheets out than we have square footage,” Blau said. “That building will be leased in no time.”

Tenants are already expressing interest in the skyscraper planned for 50 Hudson Yards, which is planned for the site now occupied by Coach’s old headquarters, according to Ross.

Moving trucks are on hand at the old Coach headquarters site. We will likely be in demo by next year.

The old building (shown here between 55 and 30 Hudson) will make way for yet another massive tower by Related.

Ronald McDonald is no more. Soon, 50 Hudson will vaporize the cholesterol palace, and with it, Ronalds ponzi scheme of selling "healthy food".

Signage around the site brings even more of a WTC feel to the area...

BlackRock Fills Wall Street Void in Headquarters Hunt
Asset manager has narrowed search for new headquarters down to three sites in Manhattan

By Sarah Krouse
July 27, 2016

Quote:
BlackRock Inc. is presenting New York real-estate developers with something they haven’t seen in a while—a financial firm that is looking to grow.

While big banks and hedge funds are in retreat and emptying out space, the asset management giant is deciding whether to move into a new global headquarters and is narrowing its review of sites being developed in Manhattan down to three.

The 850,000-square-foot deal will be among the biggest leases of the year for the city and a contrast to the direction of the banking industry.

....BlackRock’s search has become the focal point for brokers looking to lock in one of the highest profile tenants now examining space. The firm is considering sites at the Hudson Yards development on the far West Side, neighboring Manhattan West and the World Trade Center development in lower Manhattan, according to people familiar with the matter, in addition to remaining in its current space.

Estée Lauder looking for new foundation
Cosmetics firm could consolidate offices at GM Building, 110 East 59th into new location as large as 500K sf

August 03, 2016
By Rich Bockmann

Quote:
Cosmetics giant Estée Lauder is considering a move from its perch at the General Motors Building, and is in the market for a new headquarters as large as 500,000 square feet, sources told The Real Deal.

The 70-year-old company is scouting locations for new home that could see it consolidate the nearly 300,000 square feet it has at the GM Building, as well as roughly 150,000 square feet nearby at Jack Resnick & Sons’ 110 East 59th Street. Estée’s leases in those buildings expire in 2020 and 2018, respectively, according to CoStar.

Early last year, the company signed a 100,000-square-foot lease in Midtown South for its Aramis and Designer Fragrance division and digital/social media workers at 28-40 West 23rd Street, bringing its total there to 166,000 square feet. Those offices would stay put if the company does decide to relocate one or both of its Midtown offices, sources told TRD.

In December, the Commercial Observer reported that Estée had brought on CBRE to help explore the possibility of relocating from its longtime home at the GM Building. CBRE’s Stephen Siegel is now bringing the tenant to market, sources said, though the search is still in the early stages and has not yet zeroed in on particular buildings.

Siegel declined to comment. Any search is likely to swing through new buildings on the Far West Side and Downtown, where rents are significantly lower compared to the GM Building, located at 767 Fifth Avenue.

Bad news, there will be no supertall here but two smaller towers instead.

Model from Hudson Yards office.

Eh.. I kind of forgot about this building so no huge disappointment there. I think and hopefully, phase 2 or even nearby sites will harbor other supertalls.

The two buildings actually look sort of cool.

Meh...what you loose in height, you gain in additional street level development.

Plus, it doesn't detract from the height of it's next door neighbor, which is always nice.

It looks like they changed it up a bit. Before, it was two towers sharing the same base and one was much taller than the other:

The brown tower still looks taller for sure jut not as much.

Compared to the 780' foot tower in the back (55HY?), their respective heights look ~770 and just under 700, the designs are interesting too. Not sad about this...

They've got a 1980's postmodern look to them. Not very cutting edge or exciting. Just blah...

They change their minds so much! And please, no.... the two tower concept looks like garbage. You're going to be using roughly the same square footage, why such a waste? Please, no to this!Go back to the drawing boards guys at Related... you're very good at that!

My guess why they went with smaller towers is they did not want to obstruct the view from 30 HY observation deck.

I wouldnt put too much stock in those models. They are going to go for the large floor office plan, which exactly what the Hudson Yards was created for. With Related's other Hudson Yards towers full, and the western yards years off, you can count on that.

All other Hudson yards towers are accurate in that model. If they were not serious about 50 HY towers they would make a fillers. Besides, the model is on display at Hudson Yards office so its first source.

All of those other towers have been designed. This one hasn't. Looking at that model, those two towers together won't add up to the full amount of floor space this tower will have. They're placeholders at best. Related is on a roll with the office towers in the Hudson Yards. It would be shocking to see them pull up that mat.
