No one really knows. I'd expect some activity soon here. June sounds promising, with weather warming/clearing up.

That's exactly right. I had a reliable source who said that they were courting Tiffany and Gucci. Of course, they probably also courted the Ritz-Carlton for the hotel. I actually think there's a fair chance they'll get something of Tiffany/Gucci quality. After all, I really do think the city is ready (and certainly will be 2 years from now) and where else would they go? Aura won't have much, if any, retail, right? Downtown Plaza? Well, maybe if they really make a push to gentrify their tenant mix, and pull in a Saks, as has been rumored. Tiffany certainly co-exists in some malls, like in Boston. But given Westfield's track record in downtown I'm not holding my breath. The only other option I can think of is Epic, but who knows if that will ever get built...

I know, but they need the water level to drop to begin construction. I guess I worded that badly.

Aura does have retail, I think it's about 11,000 square feet. I heard they are courting a high end coffee shop and a nice restaurant, among others.

621 has about 23,000 as well, but The Towers seems like the ideal place for Tiffany and Gucci though.

where did you peoples see mention of the Dunmore Communities brothers buying up a prestigious spot in this project?

It's funny and a bit ironic to see a big-time, suburban developer interested in such property. (though i'm not one to cast stones as i've actually done some work with them)

The Bee has made mention of it at least once, but several times, I think.
It was reported the brothers paid $6M for 6Ksf on the top.

no kidding.

I wonder what a pair of brothers plan to do with a single pentouse. Maybe subdivide it into two residences. Or use it as a place to entertain clients? I would imagine the former makes more sense than the latter. Nobody spends $6M for a place to schmooze. (at least not in Sac).

I just bought today's SBJ and there's a great article re: dt's pending renaisance and a lot of it focuses on the towers. The jist of it is bad news for all you doubters and haters out there ( you know who you are). The Towers (specifically) and the other projects are looking very good. Particularly, it looks at the retail potential in dt once the residences get built.
a must read for anyone interested

^ Are you talking about the Structures insert or the article about the guy in charge of marketing 301 CM? I didn't see any other articles. BTW, the article about the guy in charge of marketing 301 CM mentions that major construction on The Towers will begin next month.

Memorial Day Sale?

Anyone know any details about the Memorial Day Sale at the Towers?

There is a big balloon at 301 Capital with a banner announcing the sale.

Just finished my signing earlier today. Everything went really smooth. There were at least 5-7 other signings going on while I was there. My rep told me most appointments were scheduled the last 3 weeks before the June 10th deadline. I guess it's only normal that most people would wait until the latest possible date to put down there hard deposit. Looks like they were real busy. Also asked about the retail & she would not give up the 411, but she did say it is high end in the lines of Gucci or Tiffany.

Congratulations aim*high...

Dieler have you already placed your non refundable deposit???

In this weeks Business Journal they noted that the Ryness Company (which is the leasing agency for the Towers) has been scheduling 10 appointments per day, to convert 535 deposits into non refundalbes (by mid-June).
