Flowering Pear Trees & Historic Homes and Mansions|Harrison Boulevard, Boise

The Harrison Boulevard Historic District is within the much larger Northend Historic District near downtown Boise.

Spring time is always an event on Harrison Blvd when the flowering pear trees in the center median begin to bloom. The Boulevard follows the path of a portion of the Oregon Trail through Boise. There is a lot of Oregon Trail history in Boise but that will be another thread.

I shot these photos while walking on one side of the street, almost to the top near Hill Road but I did not go all of the way, and then back down the opposite side to Hays Street. There are several homes I did not photograph but this thread hopefully displays a wide range of the architectural diversity of this grand boulevard. The Northend Historic District surrounds this Boulevard and 5 blocks to the east is the Hyde Park Historic District. As time permits I plan on posting photo threads for the other historic districts.

Here is a link for some information about Harrison Boulevard. Enjoy!

Have you also learned that secret from the river; that there is no such thing as time? That the river is everywhere at the same time, at the source and at the mouth, at the waterfall, at the ferry, at the current, in the ocean and in the mountains.-Hermann Hesse

WOW!! Thank you so much for this spring walk along Harrison Bvd. in Boise, Sawtooth!

Those blooming pear trees and historic houses are amazing. You did a very, very pleasant walk. I like all Boise´s green areas you use to show us. Boise is a very sweet city.

Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain!

Amazing looking neighborhood one that I could easily fall in love with. What is the average price on a home in this neighborhood?

prices are about as diverse as the architecture.

right now there are homes for sale along harrison blvd ranging in price from $218,000 for a 3br, 2ba bungalow to $2,200,000 for a 5br, 3ba home with a 5-car garage.

warm springs avenue on the east side is similar to harrison with a lot of very nice old mansions mixed with smaller homes.

harrison is one of my favorite streets during the fall, especially on halloween when it seems like every home is decked-out in the full haunted holiday garb.

good stuff.

Beautiful photos! I've been searching for a collection of photos of this lovely street for a while. It was almost as good as being there. Any chance of another trip down this street to include the Halloween decorations? I was there last year at this time and it was fantastic. My photos are nowhere near as nice as yours.
