Rightly or wrongly, Toronto gets painted by many Canadians as a place that wants to be seen in the same light as New York and feels that the rest of Canada is beneath them. This view is especially prevalent with fans of the CFL.

^I heard this too, but that was back in the eighties when it cruised past Montreal (but still had a chip on the shoulder). I never hear about the comparison to NYC today, except for the odd reference to Bay Street being Canada's Wall Street.

You hear it quite a bit on the Prairies. Along with "Hog Town" and "The Big Smoke"!

Perhaps a hydro bill? (although that could diminish as rates have been reduced)

I think for Toronto, a picture of a backwater town would be appropriate, and then for the rest of the province, a picture of Toronto. Just to remind each part of who their enemy is.

Beer Store is stupid but it's not something Ontarians hate per se, we're more of less annoyed by it. It's becoming less relevant anyway with all the grocery store beer we have now. I know a couple people who've recently come of legal age (what a silly term lol) and they've only ever personally bought alcohol in grocery stores, not the Beer Store. I think eventually we'll have other privately run liquor stores, especially if Doug Ford comes in and implements the same for cannabis.

  • There should be an image of Queen's Park, rather than NYC, over northern Ontario.
  • New Brunswick should be a highway distance sign with only Nova Scotia destinations.
  • Manitoba should be a huge mosquito.
  • Saskatchewan should be an actual photograph of Saskatchewan.

The whole map should be replaced by a conflicting list of what the map should contain, without us ever achieving a state where the map contains any of those things.

I think making all of Ontario a picture of Toronto would piss off half of us. Or possibly a big picture of Kathleen Wynne to unite all Ontarians.
