Im confused. Did he move to QC because of racism in CGY or did he move to QC and encounter racism there?

Qc City isn't worst (or better) than any other canadian cities when it comes to racism.

And as much as it is true that people in Québec City will expect a minimum effort to speak the local language from a tourist, most quebecers will be glad to speak english. Most of them do not have the occasion to speak english in their everyday routine. I think it is kind of funny when an anglophone is here and tries to speak french to a local and the latter tries to answer in english. both of them are really making efforts to be nice to the other person and it always ends up with smiles. It's just the way it is and it gives a warm and welcoming feeling to the city.

The same can be said when you travel to the caribbean. People there are very happy when you speak a little of spanish.

No I just did it off the top of my head.

Impressive, considering I didn't even get past 9th grade French class.

Of course it is, and a pretty inept one at that. But hey, at least he's trying (the translator, not caltrane).

Hey man, I didn't use a translator to do that.

That is some crappy French, what translator would produce a result like that?

I just realize that on my side, since I left Montreal for Qc last year, I don't have any chances to speak with any anglophones, the West-Island & Ontario is very far away now ! ... Whats my point ? ... None, I've internet to keep up my level like what I'm just doing here. ... hence nothing can't replace real life's interactions.

Looking at how bad justin bieber's french is bad, I guess that the french classes in ON. aren't what could makes you a real bi-tongu-al citizen. Same as Quebec, when I was 12 and went in Ottawa I could barely speak english and I needed some help to take my order in Mcdonalds !! ... Quelle honte !

True, I heard that almost 50% of the english words are coming from latin and/or french ( old normand )

Anyway, back to the census results...

Ok, Ontario which is falling behind the rest of the country in population growth still added 700,000 people. Not bad in a country with a total population of 34 million. Infact after corrections we might find Ontario actually grew faster than the national average and our share of the national totally likely increased.

Imagine what happens if we find gold here!

Quebec is getting killed by this Census report.

Everything is fine Especially when Toronto looks like of the Miami of the north ... geez all of those 40-50 storeys towers in constructions outta there O_O

Yea, still surprising about Quebec, mind you, our growth is actually doing rly better than before and even of that, we were just beating Alberta by what ? 2000 peoples. incredible.
