So does it look like this will go ahead, even in this climate?

just an update....the first tower in the project was released for sale a few months ago, and it is the shorter 55S tower....per several posters at urbantoronto, it is now about 70% sold.....not sure when construction would begin for the first tower, but the developers are Cadillac Fairview and Lanterra Developments, 2 well established players in the Toronto market...

hopefully we will see this one proceed...the market for new condos in Toronto, while way down from last year, seems to be showing some signs of life...

btw, the proposed heights are as follows...

office - 31 storeys - 156.9 m (514.7 ft)

Res 1 - 55 storeys - 185.8 m (609.58 ft)

Res 2 - 65 storeys - 216.8 m (711.28609 ft)

Indeed, those towers look great; enough to give Vancouver condos a run for their money.

More hoarding progress. They're going straight to the covered hoarding, rather than doing the dig and only putting fences around as protection.

This is taken from across York street looking west. If you look at the gap between the covered hoarding and the construction trailer on the left of the photo in the distance you'll see the hoarding they put up to close the gap between the gardner ramp and the fences of the infiniti site.

I don't understand why they have 2 small-ish towers when you could have 1 large one

^ Because: a) two smaller towers are less expensive to build than one larger one, and b) they aren't actually smallish, they are largish, all over 500 ft and one over 200m which is very high for a residential building. The tallest would be the tallest building in any Canadian city outside Toronto (except Calgary after the Bow is finished) and would be in the top 5-10 tallest if built in any but the largest cities in NA.

610' and 711' that isn't too bad! For condo towers, Calgary and a couple others wish they could get something even close to that!!
