Please tell me this is only temporary. I am all pro for more public art, but this looks like a something you would see in a junk yard.

Pretty cool. I think it looks much better in the last photo on the artist's website.

They should add a cyclist at the base of the structure. Then the stack of cars should weep dirty motor oil onto it. There could be a small pool of motor oil around the base of the structure which would be pumped back up to the top. Perhaps at 10 in the evening the pool of oil could be lit up (Think olympic plaza)
This would really illustrate all the things Vancouver is against. This juxtaposition could send a profound message.

You forgot the black lights, the stripes to make it go faster, and the plush pikachus in the back window.

Should be a few wrecked or impounded ones lying around.

To make it relevant to Vancouverites they need a statue of Gregor at the top smiting the cars with a sword.

Here are some pics of the installation that they got done today of the tree trunk. It's an impressive piece of tree. The last shot is from the Skytrain.

I heard a coworker talking about this earlier today. Apparently some homeless guy climbed up to the top white car last night and was caught sleeping inside it.

TA DA!!! lol

I was about half a block away on Milross Ave. trying to get a zoomed in shot when a little old lady with a cane came walking up. She stopped to figure out what I was trying to get a picture of and when she saw it she said "That's not going to be permanent is it?!!!". I was tempted to say yes but I said I didn't know. She heaved a big sigh and shook her head and walked away.
