I wonder if the fourth tower you see in the background of the render is actually on 2242 Alpha Ave. Plus with Milano already under way, there will be 5 towers in close proximity.

Yeah that's the one, it goes up right against the right side of Alpha Ave. The more clearer 3 towers is right up against beta ave.

Renders are always not accurate haha

Thanks.

From the Concord Brentwood thread, you can see that there's no tower in the southeast corner of Lumina's site so as to avoid shadows cast over the new park.

I like how the above plan shows only 1 tower across Beta Ave!

Pre-sales start in a few weeks I believe. Just wondering would there be any concerns about Thind developers taking on such a large project for the first time? They would relatively be inexperienced compared to the big guys Concord or Bosa in the area.. What issues would normally arise..? Thanks

deleted. on another note. i am pretty impressed on the renderings. i was told the tower will be right behind alaska st so you won't get too much noise. can't wait to see it completed. I'm even buying a unit myself tomorrow.

It was very honest of them to rough in the buildings for future phases on their "views" page, something other developers haven't done *cough*, Concord Pacific next door,*cough* : http://www.luminabrentwood.com/water...-lumina/views/

Thind sure has come a long way from building just townhouses. One of my friends units from their earliest projects ended up with a larger than life pantry due to the fact they messed up and couldn't fit the intended washroom. Since then I've kept an eye on their projects such as their first tower called Sky water tower along Kingsway. It was vastly delayed and craftsmanship lacked attention to detail. Fast forward to their last few projects near first Avenue and another one along Kingsway called pixel. My oh my they used much better brands for faucets and toilets like Kohler and also had some innovations such as toilet paper shelf stands and closet organization were second to none. Architecturally it looked beautiful as well on the exterior and was on par with the other big names.

They started small, but have matured to a much larger company and props to them for doing towers right where solo and concord Pacific are going to be staples in that community. That costco parking is going to be packed! My only concern about that location are train noises.

Question does anyone know what is happening to the carter building South west of lumina? Will there be a future development going in there? If so that will block the View and the sun to the West

The carter collision building is to the west right up against the south side of the milano tower. However looking at the renderings it looks like there is going to be a road so i dont think there will be enough space for another development which is good.

Old article

Quote:
City staff have encouraged Solterra to acquire the property next door, the site of the Carter automotive body shop at 2460 Alpha Ave., as part of its project. But the owner of that parcel is not willing to sell and has stated any future sale would be together with the rest of the Carter automotive dealership lands, the report said.

It noted that "a substantial portion" of the Carter auto body site is intended to be dedicated as road right-of-way for the extension of Alaska Street. That would make the remainder of the site too small for a future multi-family housing development.
