What's the current height (of the core)? Looks like ~350m.

Anyway, the speed and progress is just amazing. Too bad it's not really 632m tall... I want too see a building (except for BK) where we actually have a floor at 600m+!!

Forgive me for asking, but can someone remind me why they went with the whole skylobby-atrium design instead of a standard office building where the floorplans go all the way up to the windows?

is it because it was the only way (or cheaper way) to achieve the design they were going for? (the spiral effect)

I believe this site is superior to WTC in size.

Found these pics. They really show how unique the curvature of the facade is.

I highly doubt this tower will finish in 2014, more like 2016.
but that is just me.

With the rate this tower is rising, 2014 would seem like a reasonable estimate date of completion.

The end of 2014 is still more than 2 years away. Given the pace at which they're working, that's a reasonable estimate for completion.

It'll probably top out (the core) by the end of the year and the structure by the first quarter of next year. So by March 2013 the main structure should be done, and cladding should have already started. I'd say 2014 sounds PRETTY good to me, but the completion date says 2016 cause of interiors etc..

That seems a little too optimistic. I'd say slap six to eight months on the end of each of those estimates and that should be a bit more accurate.

No way it tops out by the end of this year - it still has about 250m to go. It'll probably be next summer before it tops out.

Have you seen the rate at which its been rising. It's already a bit more than half way up. It'll be done give or take a few months (few as in 1-2 months). I stand by my predictions.

Of course I have - I see it every morning on my ride to work. But even at the rate they're working, there's no way it'll be topped out in 3-4 months.
