One thing I like about this tower, depending on your viewpoint, it's a different building. Walking up 9th Avenue, the tapered design is a great effect. Walking along 33rd Street as I was earlier, the building just looms and towers above the Farley building. From that angle, it looks like it could be taller than anything in New York.

Manhattan West. This is a hunk of a building. It's just massive! There are plenty of massive buildings around this city, there's no doubt about that, but this one just appears to just tower over you. Probably because there's no setback. At 995 feet (303 meters), it is in Supertall status. Supertall buildings are any buildings that are 984 feet (300 meters) or taller.

The curve looks far more dramatic in some photos than in others. It looks great here.

I love this building

Good to see it's (sort of) twin may be back at 935' instead of 850'. Provided that rendering is up to date.

2 MW is the tower that was supposed to stand 1,216 ft, before it was disected to give us the lovely 3 MW. We'll see exactly how talled it us once DOB approvals are given, and we get a zoning diagram.

I know, the original heights were 1,216 and 935, right?

1,200+ for one would have been amazing (since I love the design) but if they both clear 900 and one is basically 1000 feet I think that's pretty good too.

Why they can't just be the exact same height is beyond me, that would look way better.

They could have gone for twin heights, even if the designs are slightly different. But I don't think they wanted to draw to many direct comparisons to the WTC. If that's the case, they will fail.

Yea that's true, although unfortunate.

It would be awesome if the second tower could end up taller than 1MW again though.

This is one of my favorite buildings in NYC, so sleek and simple. Nice height/width ratio too

I hope its baby brother starts soon

We'll get our "twins" back when it rises.
