Those taller beams are the double mechanical floors at 84 and 85 I assume.

That's because there aren't "92" actual floors, as has been explained.

Here's the actual breakdown via DOB:

Floors 67 and 68 are the observation deck floors, designated as floors 88 and 89. Mechanical floors above.

It's kinda interesting to me that Time Warner is abandoning their twin tower namesake to move here. Their current location is only 13 or so years old. I am sure the staff is ecstatic to be moving here. I would be.

Not only that, but they spent a lot of money on upgrades/renovations of the studio space even after the move was announced. Maybe some other television network will want that space. Maybe not.

A look back at an earlier version of the top, which was to include what was at the time the highest occupied space in New York, higher than 432 Park...

This version of the design has also come a long way...

Of course, KPF's original plan that was scrapped...

KPF's taller tower (first render) would IMPU (in my parallel universe) would be almost perfect for 80 South.

Maybe something more to the spire that juts out from the superstructure.......

The ob deck's gonna be fun to watch get put into place.

Can that be done simultaneously with the completion of the rest of the tower, or does the deck get done first?

Sounds like a silly question; but eh.......
