Pic by me. Taken today, 10-13-18 from Eagle Rock Reservation in NJ.

Was via Samsung Edge, so the zoom fucks it up. But hey... if we all want to pitch a donation to the "Save a Chris" foundation for a pro camera, I'm fine with that!

There was a great shot of Hudson Yards on Thursday Night Football this week. Night time skyline shot with HY front and center.

Just got my badge for access to Hudson Yards. Can't wait to explore the place. I'll take pictures for sure.

I'm pretty sure nyc_alex means he got a badge to explore the construction area and hopefully score us some really amazing shots that we wouldn't see otherwise!!

This building is such a monster.

Height and gigantic mass all in one. Can't wait to go up on that deck.

I can't wait either. For now, it's just a giant tease.

If you didn't know anything about what went up in the US in the past decade, it would be hard to identify this skyline at first glance...

If I wasn't aware of any of these, I would never guess New York because it looks like a city's downtown on its own. On top of that, it looks like something Hollywood would come up with (not a bad thing, just painting an image).

Right....4 supertalls in this one image when every other major American city has 2 maybe 3 at the most. Many only have 1. Atlanta, San Fran and Houston come to mind.

Chicago has seven going on 10+, but yeah NYC is king of the supertall in NA, and will be for the rest of time now

I always wonder how history will look back on this time 20 or 30 years from now. So much on the skyline and around the city has changed with all of the construction. That skyline shut is just a part of a "new" New York that will be the only one some people only know. They won't know what it was like when the railyards were open to the sky, and no tall buildings stood on the west side. They'll take if for granted that it's the city as it should and always have been. But I think we get the better of it, because we get to watch it all being built.
