The only redeeming quality is the mech pent house, which you know won't get built.

It was cancelled years ago.

The school board took their half of that building, completely redesigned it, and built it on the mountain...

McMaster built their half, although completely redesigned...

King & Bay Condos will eventually be built on the space where the new school board building was supposed to be built...

Should be taller than 12 in my opinion. Great main intersection downtown deserves more

Maybe the pipes in that spot are limited? Maybe the Sheraton wanted to preserve the views for their top few floors?

Probably more than a rumor, I just don't have the actual proof in my possession...

There's a plan to put a 22 floor tower on the All Saints Church property at King/Queen.

I knew the development on that site was getting a redesign with the new owners, but I wasn't expecting the height to nearly double. I hope it's true

Do you know anything else about it?

I got the news from my buddy at Ark + Anchor who got his news from Jason Leach who's part of one of the Strathcona neighbourhood groups. Only other details I got were that the holdup on developing the land was because the city had to replace the sewers underneath it...or something to that effect. There's a render going around apparently, but I haven't seen it. Church will be on the main floor. There's supposedly a large podium with multiple outdoor spaces on multiple levels.

I heard a rumour that the old Delta Bingo / Kresge's is to be razed for a new downtown GoodLife fitness. Whether this is true/ if they plan to reuse any portions of the old building has yet to be proven.

I really hope thats just a bad rumor though if it does come forward, I'd expect significant push back.

Fitness gym = foot traffic though... I wouldn't be mad if the design was really complementary to the surroundings. It's also one of the few large businesses thAt seems to be able to operate downtown..

Lots of goodlife fitness locations in downtown toronto that are part of larger buildings. It would increase foot traffic, especially if it was open after hours. And the clientele would be better than those that frequented delta bingo.
