First photo thread all year and i have to admit this is probably my favorite one ever. So for my birthday my wonderful wife decided to book us a vacation to Chicago with a couple nights stay at the Aqua downtown. The room was on the sw corner of 9th floor with a nice view of the park and a view down towards Aon tower.
It was a great view and the hotel was pretty nice, lots of convienent stuff near by. BIg thanks to Tom in Chicago and Hayward. Both were awesome tour guides and showed us everything chicago really has to offer. We hit so many neighborhoods: pilsen, chinatown, little italy, little mexico, lakeshore, evanston, wilmette and tons more...
There was so much to take in after a while I had to just put the camera down and soak it all in. Weather was sort of overcast the first couple days so I didnt get any really good pics until day 3. But there are lots of good shots. I wish I could have got more night shots but traveling with my tripod was too much of an issue. But I managed to grab a few.
The thread is pretty heavy in the landscape/cityscape department but there are some people pics from the club on Sunday night. Smart Bar goes off even with a small crowd.
Check out my first trip to Chicago. This was the reason I bought a better camera.

Dang dude you made it all the way up to the Baha'i temple. That's pretty far away from the city. I remember seeing that temple as a little kid growing up there. Sweet Tom pic and pizza. Although even though I'm originally from Chicagoland I have to say that NYC pizza is way better. Chicago does have a much nicer subway system though. NYC is so dirty and in need of an update. Sweet trip mang, make it to the burgh soon, or better yet move out this way.

killer thread your best ever, dude don't complain about those nasty clouds they really add depth and mood to your shots
Thanks. Weather is what it is. Really glad that it just didn't rain. Overcast I can deal with some what. The post card shots came out good, weather was good on that day. You need cloud filler for skyline shots.
Give yourself a pat on the back too. I wish everyone knew how much of Chicago you really showed me. It was amazing. Tom in Chicago is the best tour guide ever. These pics are only about 10% of what I really saw.

My brother lives in wilmette. It was like less than 5 minutes away. Temple was gorgeous. Some of the trains were still funky. Train stops were mostly clean. Don't take the elevators unless you like the smell of pungent urine. The pizza was on point.
Sharpies ain't got shit on Chicago. This is that killer, disko.
This jawn looks familiar...it must be making the rounds.
I was wondering what was up with that macaroni. I rolling in Chicago. They let me in free at the club, people was buying me beer, I was snapping pic rockin it like Andy Warhol and shit. Bro you know how I roll.
