Yes and the plan is to light up the building as well. If adding a picture wasn't so complicated I'd post it now. But I don't feel like logging onto a third party site, uploading, finding the URL code, copy, pasting, etc. It becomes a 20 minute event to upload a pic.

Just to confirm. The elevator cabs have lights which will create the effect. If so, how often are elevator cabs moving at night? I,'ve work late in a couple of the largest towers in the nation and they were abandoned by 8PM.

Maybe they'll just be programmed to sit at different intervals until the morning when they all go back down to the lobby. As you said as long as there's 1-2 waiting in the lobby after 8pm it shouldn't really hold anyone up.

Not very efficient but have to make this thing interesting somehow.

A lot of the lighting effect on Union Centre will be blocked from view by 160 Front... conveniently missing from the render.

Bjarke Ingels and Douglas Coupland were in town to celebrate the topping out of Telus Sky and the successful testing of its lighting system. Unfortunately Twitter videos can't be posted here, but follow the sourced links to view tha absolute wonder that is Telus Sky. Holy shit, beyond my wildest hopes for what this tower could be. Amazing. Here's some photos from the posts as well.

Wow, that looks amazing. I'm not a terrible fan of lighting on towers, mostly because it can be rather lazily done or designed, but this building really is a chip off the ol' block with it's lighting system.

Telus Sky is definitely giving off some Hong Kong vibes with the lighting feature!

What's that cool ATB heart for? I like it. Like random art only viewed from above.

The building it's on is their main downtown Calgary branch. And yes of course its art only viewed from above, as its on the roof It's surrounded by tall buildings, including the Calgary Tower, so it makes sense.

Telus Sky looks incredible in person, after all the blunders we suffered through it's really nice to have some quality architecture in town these days.
