While Calgary's long warm run is definitely over, EC is forecasting 12 on Monday. Just awesome for mid-November out here. Mind you, the Weather Network is forecasting snow, and lots of it, coming then and in the long term forecast.

We still haven't had a day stay below freezing yet, which may seem "normal" to the rest of the country but it's pretty damn special out here. It will be 9 months of above-zero highs pretty soon.

I don't think its been above zero at my house for 3 days now. Was down to -10C last night. Pretty similar to average January temperatures. I live at the base of a mountain and at this time of year the sun is blocked by 12:30 or so. On Dec 21st I only get sun until about 11:30.

My neighbourhood is definitly in a micro climate, but not the good kind.

Snowstorms pound northern China

Quote:
Cars were either buried in snow or skidding on the roads in northeastern China as powerful snowstorms caused traffic delays.

At least 20 cm of snow had fallen by Friday, and more of it was in the forecast.

The heavy snow blocked roads and delayed flights in Heilongjiang Province.

Parts of the Midwest are also affected by a snowstorm...

Early Winter Storm Takes Aim at Plains, Midwest
Quote:
An early-season winter storm will spread rain, thunderstorms and snow across a large portion of the Plains and Midwest through Saturday, including the first significant snowfall of the season in parts of Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Winter storm watches and warnings are in effect.

Bright sun, no wind and 14C in Moncton yesterday.

The forecast is the same for today although personally I think it will be warmer!!

A great day for the New Brunswick provincial high school football championship game at Rocky Stone Field.

No snow in Moncton yet this year and there is no snow forecast for the next two weeks either (unless the possibility of mixed precipitation later next week counts).

Last night had to be one of the thickest fog in ages. While driving I couldn't even see the curbs.

Snow in the north end. Rain in the south. Typical for this time of year.

Edit: We're starting to get a rain snow mix now.
