What are those ellipse shapes? It looks almost like it is related to irrigation, but neither the topography, nor the lack of vegetation seem to support that.
Also much of that area in the picture is in the park, I honestly do not know what has caused those shapes...

As for some analysis, and maybe Calgarian can tell me if I'm in the wrong direction, but those almost look like some sort of dunes, except for the vegetation. That might explain the white blotches though.

Neat place, a bit overstated in its "coolness" factor perhaps but certainly worth a drive and walk through if anyone ever drives across the prairies. The Spirit Sands in Manitoba are also pretty swell.

It's a bunch of giant sand dunes in the middle of the bald prairie, so it's neat, but will never be a huge tourist destination or anything. If you go in the middle of the summer it gets ridiculously hot too!
So, I'm looking for name of the building in the first photo. To give you a hand, the second photo is a smaller scale photo of the same location. Just to help you narrow down the search a bit, I'll let you know that it's not in Ontario. You're welcome!
