According to the City of Phoenix, a GPLET was not granted during the REP process.

Edit* This DOC is from 2015. I'm not sure if that's for the current developer. But I do recall there was no GPLET for this. But I could be wrong.

Still talking about The Derby right? If so, yes they received GPLET assistance and committed 5% of units to workforce housing

GPLET is not actually given until construction is finished so at this point saying they "received GPLET assistance" is not factual. They have been told they will get one, but it's not a done deal until they get it at end of build out.

Well no shit...approval/handshake whatever u want to call it...matter of the fact is it was approved. It's been stated multiple times on this thread that the only reason why Transwestern proceeded with project was due to GPLET.

I was merely responding to this statement, no need to be rude. My point is they weren't given a GPLET, they were told they will probably get one. Big difference.

Abandonment Hearing

Looks like there may be some life to Derby. Transwestern has submitted an abandonment application that appears to be removal of 5 feet of McKinley along the Derby property line. The hearing is scheduled for the 27th, app #V170029A. I couldn't search for the application. Maybe someone else can find it or I will post it when I get home later this evening.

Hoping that this is positive news!

Interesting! Did you ever get a moment to look up the application? I have no idea how to do that...

Looks like they're moving the building 5 feet south, likely to appease Angel's Trumpet. This sounds like a good sign to me.

Thanks for looking it up for me. For some reason, I couldn't search the city clerk site for this specific application. Thanks for posting!

Hopefully, he opens up to it since they want to put 5 feet between the lot line and Angel's Trumpet. Phoenix wasn't opposed to a 0' lot line and approved the development, so this shows willingness of the developer to appease the neighbors. They could easily end up going the route Empire is taking and say we don't need a GPLET and build it anyway with a 0' lot line. So, better he works with the developer than against them since they are willing to budge a little.

Matt is in for a rude awakening.... finally. The guy needs to come back down to realityville.

Derby project is far from dead. Been saying it for months.
