or Saint-Uber.

we sometimes called it "saint HuBBERTs" Anglos always had fun bastardizing (on purpose) the french way of pronouncing things.

and we would be amused at some of the translations.

Like "Collation Instantanee dans un gobelet" (for those instant soups in the styro containers).

Instant snack in a Goblin!

Isn't St. Hubert basically the same as Swiss Chalet?

It's odd how many Québécois will refer to the American new wave band The B-52s as "les Bé cinquante-deux". I've actually heard radio hosts name them this way on several occasions.

It's an extremely rare exception as the names of anglo bands are almost never frenchified in this way.

I have a feeling that the dreaded BM Onctueux is about to make an appearance on the SSP Canada Ugly Canada thread.

It's been that kind of day here.

Like "Blink Cent Quattre Vingt Deux". Anything with numbers is fair game I guess.

No, no... I'm having a good day at work. It was more about the atmosphere on this thread.

As for BM Onctueux, well we might be seeing more of his sister soon.

Horrifying up close. It almost looks like he's wincing at his own unctuousness.

Of course it had to be the largest picture he could possibly find. Thankfully, most of him is hidden off my screen.

the way he is wincing, perhaps he is laying something unctuous in his pants. Pinching a loaf, or something worse.

Normally just "Tim". Pronounced the only way there is.
