Note: This thread was originally started about Western Newfoundland resort developments, and was changed to include all development in Corner Brook and any N.L. regional developments outside the St. John's CMA and Avalon peninsula.

The small Newfoundland town of Meadows, just across the Humber Arm from Corner Brook will be the site of a new condominium development. This is the latest in a series of resort type developments for Western Newfoundland. The project will comprise of 60 condominiums in six buildings on 8.6 acres of waterfront property.

“The other reason people come to Newfoundland is the low rate of crime, it is very important,” he said. “You go to the United States and you can’t leave your kids to run around freely. That unfortunately is something a lot of people in Europe and the United States don’t experience anymore.”

Phase 1 is expected to begin in May with the first 12 apartments and the recreation centre — consisting of a recreation area, administrative offices, restaurant, pool, sauna, spa, gym, and a small convenience store — completed and ready for accommodating in January of 2008.
