Update on the 13-story Carmel Partners Expo/Sepulveda project from yesterday, courtesy of a friend who lives around the corner.

Pretty suspicious that there have been no renderings for this project.

All we have are the elevations at this point. Which frankly don't look too promising. Remember, this is from VTBS Architects, who brought us The Jefferson across from Hollywood & Highland, and the first phase of BLVD 6200.

I thought we had renderings for this, from a long time ago. Maybe on CurbedLA or urbanizela.

About freakin' time. That lot has sat there for years, growing weeds in the heart of CC.

Pretty incredible that soon Century City land will be almost completely utilized with these four new towers. There are some older low rise building on Century Park East that will hopefully go soon as well.

Into it even if the towers look like a Richard Meier rip off. You know that's an old rendering though when they still show the old St. Regis tower.

I like this line from the article though

"JMB's earlier plan for a 37-story, 700,000-square-foot office building at the property received approval from the Los Angeles City Council in early 2015, but was met with opposition by rival landlord JP Morgan Chase, which contended that the proposed development was too dense for the neighborhood".

HAHA how on earth was their previous plan to dense for the area??? I think BS like this should be thrown out immidiately for stupidity.

Speaking of Century City towers, first crane is going up for the Century Plaza towers. Looks like the north tower crane.

Speaking of Century City, is there any chance the small commerical buildings on Santa Monica Blvd between Century Park East and Beverly Glenish?

Where else could Century City see taller towers, besides what is u/c or planned?

^ There's a longer term plan to redevelop parts of the FOX lot that have one or two highrises in them, along Ave of the Stars, just to the south of FOX Plaza. That is some time out, however, if it happens at all, especially considering the potential (likely) sale of FOX to Disney.

I can't remember if there's a specific plan for the empty Christmas tree lot on Santa Monica/Beverly Glen, but it would be nice to see a tower go up there rather than another low rise mixed use building.

You mean, Nakatomi Plaza.

Academy museum is coming along. But an early 2019 opening seems way too ambitious.

The David Geffen theater is the most exciting part of this project, for me. I love to see old classics on the big screen.
