My hometown's Houston and I currently live in Nebraska, but I go to Chicago every month for work. I finally got a chance to actually enjoy the city with Chicagoan friends for a celebration this last weekend. I snapped photos here and there of the city whenever I could.
I didn't plan super well and only had a long lens with me, so that kind of limited what I could fit in the frame for a lot of the pics. Fortunately, my amazing friend lent me his wide angle near the end of the visit, which was excellent. I will probably end up taking more pictures of Chicago than of my hometown since I go to this city a lot more frequently at this point in my life (as long as I don't get bored of my new camera). Other than it being balls cold for a good portion of the year, I really love this city.
Since I noticed places where the newer Batman movies were filmed, I figured I'd start by posting as many Batman-like pictures that I had (which is like 10). If I take more pictures of the city, I'll stick them in this thread.
I´ve liked your aerial shots from the John Hancock´s observatory. I will always remember those views from there. I´ve liked the winter street scenes and to see Lake Michigan frozen.
great photos. I loved the photos from the top of John Hancock Center¡¡¡
Don't you have one of the building?
I have one, but it's not very good. I had to get pretty far away from buildings to get a good picture of them that day because I only had a long lens on the camera. The one I took was about a block away from the building. After I took it, I didn't do a 180 to take a picture of it again as we walked south along Michigan Ave. (kind of on a time crunch to get to dinner). At some point I'd like to do some exploring of the city on my own so I can take as much time as I want
Dude on the left also taking pictures seems totally oblivious to the screaming fire engine:
I was actually standing pretty far away from this gentleman when I took this:
Cat on a leash
And, more skyscrapers, with one under construction just visible on the lower right
thank you very much for the new pictures, and I must say that I've seen many pictures of john hancock center in dozens of threads, but the one you just have shown is great, I love it.
The truth is that Jonh hancock center is my favorite skyscrapers around the world; although the Aqua has stolen my heart . by the way, did you get to see it? Did you walk near the Aqua? is it as impressive as seen from near? have a picture of it?
It's like Dubai, except it's a real city and way better!
I chuckled. Good one.
