I wouldn't be surprised to see the Connolly start construction in 2015.

A beautiful project. If James was not changing enough, what a stellar success this street is (sorry just awe struck a bit and had to say the obvious).

They can't legally sell the units until they get their Tarion certification or whatever it is. Until then, they're taking $5000 deposits on units which are held in trust by a lawyer.

Apparently there has been a family feud with the son and daughter who are running this project. She cannot stand the project Architect John Mokrycke who is a personal friend of the son. So he is no longer part of the project and is only advising the son. There is a new firm doing the project, but I don’t know the name. This is most likely the reason there is another delay in the start of this project.

It also looks like Architect John Mokrycke has decided to retire from architecture at this time. He has moved from James Street North where he owns several buildings to a house he designed and built on Beach Blvd.

This development if anything exemplifies what kind of development the city wants in this area. Jason Thorne has said quite publicly that they want to focus the high rise developments towards the King and Main corridors, while developments around James North are to be mid-rise and designed with heritage sensitivity in mind.

The only people I expect to challenge this are the hardcore anti-gentrifiers based on the fact that this building is a condo.

Ok if this is okay, Tivoli doesn't need a set back until after the 7th floor.

That would look awkward. If you're doing a set-back on a tower like that having it near the bottom looks better.

Honestly not sure whether I prefer the old render or the new. They both have their good points. Hopefully progress will be forthcoming.

Tivoli is a tower though. In this context, a slightly taller mid-rise that has no setbacks is more appropriate than a highrise without one.

I definitely like the new rendering a lot more but I just wanna see the damn thing built at this point. That empty lot is a terrible eyesore.

What new design? What new rendering? Can't find anything online that looks different from the original...
