Damn Coldayman, you really killed this thread! Also, your shots of San Diego are fantastic - love that you captured the El Cortez tower. Though I admittedly was laughing to myself because I'm pretty sure I recall a post from you many years ago, complaining that every time you're in San Diego it happens to be raining - it looks like you were cursed again.

You have an excellent memory! Yes, that is true...I've never seen San Diego in the sun...until last year which I'll post later in life .

Nice pictures! I always love seeing this part of the country, and I especially love the Nevada pictures. Some questions, not just for you:

The Hilton is a Westgate?

Am I the only one that thinks that the sunset at the Venetian isn’t very true to form?

Where did you get that Las Vegas skyline shot?

Is that Red Rock Canyon that you went to?

I think I’ve heard of that waterfall near Big Sur. Does it have a name?

1. Yup
2. Nope
3. Exploration Peak Park (http://mountainsedge.com/explore/par...loration-park/)
4. No, I went to Valley of Fire State Park
5. It does! McWay Falls.

las vegas is like an avatar for a part of american culture that keeps me up at night....it's just nightmare fuel for me. i don't understand why people will go there but think that new orleans is too crazy for them.

loved all of the photos, though. it's funny, i've been all over the west except the places in this thread. i've even been to reno and all over the basin and range. no vegas...

edit: i have been to sacramento but didn't spend the night.

Great photos. I love Cali's natural and scenic beauty. I can only imagine how it use to be before human inhabitants. By the way, did you only travel through Big Sur or did you stay in a nearby hotel?

If so, would you recommend your hotel? You can PM me. Every time I am out there, I say I am going to Big Sur, but never have. I plan to go there this summer........again. LOL!
