One guy who is clearly loving the new enforcement of slashing - Johnny Hockey. It's a heck of a lot harder for guys to slow him down by hacking at his hands as they did in previous seasons, and it's opening up the ice amazingly for him.

The Coyotes just came through and slapped Eastern Canada in the face.

Embarrassing loss yesterday and I extend my losing streak at games attended to 5 in a row. Great...

Flames and their top line continue to roll! This team is going to do some damage this year.

Just saw this in the NYT. Sad story about the effects of concussions on NHL players:

The worst part is the total lack of help from the league. So sad...

Yup quite enjoying watching them fall flat on their faces, espacially after all those predictions last year.

A quarter of the season books, can Montreal and Edmonton claw their way up in to playoff positions?

And what of the other Canadian teams, are some of them over performing and will drop out of playoff positions?

The only Canadian team that I think is overperforming is Vancouver. With the rosters that Calgary, Winnipeg, and Ottawa have, they should be where they are (if not better). Toronto is about where I think they should be - they're pretty stacked and with a decent goaltender performance they should be near the top of the league.

We only need to go 42-20 the rest of the year.... it's possible, it's possible.

42-20, that would indeed be quite a run.

Shit, down 2-0 at the end of the first against the Blues. Those Oiler boys better pick up the pace.

11 shots on goal and it's almost the end of second period. If i were to wager, sticking a fork in them at this point is probably too late. They are over done.

Canucks win in Philidelphia and Boeser showing more signs of being a superstar in this league. He's getting closer to being the outright rookie points leader and goal leader, but for now he'll have to settle for #1 in ppg and gpg.
